Pupils from Penweddig excited about AGOR DRYSAU - OPENING DOORS!
01/02/12
Arad Goch visited Penweddig High School in Aberystwyth this morning to meet pupils from year 8 and 9.
During the session the pupils heard abouth this years AGOR DRYSAU - OPENING DOORS Festival, which includes theatre, dance, animation, music, poetry, puppet shows and much more. Many of these pupils will be attending the Festival for the first time and they were extremely excited to hear that so many International performers and visitors will be landing here in Aberystwyth during the Festival week.
The staff at Penweddig are very keen for their pupils to get the opportunity to see at least one performance during the Festival, this provides these young people with an unique opportunity to experience international performances and learn about different cultures and traditions, the pupils themselves were extremely excited to have such a fantastic opportunity on their doorstep.
During the Festival pupils from year 8 and 9 will be given a chance to attend 'Saiyama and Payapaya' by Ballet Nimba. All 200 pupils were really excited about attending the performance which will take place in Aberystwyth Arts Center on the 21st of March.
We have been overwhelmed with the response to this years programme and are very pleased that schools throughout Ceredigion and Machynlleth have already booked tickets. Tickets to this years Festival are selling quicker than ever and some performances are already sold out!
